What is a security check?
Your iPhone needs to be updated to the latest iOS 16 software before you can see the new security check feature. Apple created it for users who feel their personal safety is at risk, whether it’s stalking, harassment, domestic abuse, or similar situations.

When Security Check is enabled, it will remove all data collected by the following apps, networks, and features:
- Bluetooth

- The camera

What features are available in Security Check?
Security Check comes with three main features.
1. Emergency reset
This is the first feature to look for within the security check Emergency reset. It’s available to anyone who wants to immediately reset access to all people and apps, and review and reset all settings associated with your Apple ID.
- Your location will no longer be shared with Find My
- Your privacy permissions for all apps will be reset
- Messages and FaceTime will be limited to your iPhone

2. Control sharing and access
If you want to restrict sharing to only certain people, you can chooseControl sharing and access.This allows you to customize which people and apps can access your information.

3. Quick exit
Finally, if you want to quickly hide the information you set up within your Security Check app, all you have to do is tap the Quick Exit button, which will save all the changes you’ve made and bring you back right away. Once you click Control sharing and access, it will take you to lists of your contacts, apps, and other devices (Mac laptops, iPads, etc.), then let you pick and choose who and what to share. Your information. All your work will be saved, and you can always return to the security check later and change your work.
